As you know, the 1500cc version is the much rarer and more sort after model, and this one is a real cracker! It is a genuine right hand model that was made in 1954 and shipped to South Africa where it spent its first 7 years before being repatriated back into the UK. It was then that the car received its very distinctive number plate, which in itself is worth quite a bit of money.
A lot of time, money and effort has gone into this lovely example over the years, and in 2018 it underwent significant mechanical restoration where the engine was stripped and rebuilt along with the gearbox. Many other smaller jobs were also attended to making sure that the car is in first class order. The cost of this was a little shy of £10k and was undertaken by a very well respected MG specialist in Essex called Peter Edney MG.
